Pitiona Oaxaca Lemon Verbena, also known as Bushy Lippia and Licorice Verbena, is a part-shade loving small woody shrub native to Central and South America. A Verbenaceae family member, the Pitiona Oaxaca Lemon Verbena is related to Aztec Sweet Herb. It bears small, delightfully aromatic flower clusters with a sweet, lemony fragrance. The light-green, opposite leaves grow on sprawling, flexible branches that weave between themselves and grow quickly and vigorously. And talk about a star pollinator, the Pitiona Oaxaca Lemon Verbena brings all the butterflies and bees to the yard with its fragrant clusters of blossoms! To top it off, it’s an easy maintenance plant that makes a gorgeous hedge.

Long used in Central and South American traditional medicine, this is a great addition to your first-aid garden. Leaves and roots are used to make tea or syrup for cough relief and are said to relieve symptoms from anxiety to flatulence and hypertension. Pitiona Oaxaca Lemon Verbena bears sedative, astringent, expectorant, antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, granting it plenty of beneficial purposes. Some of the plant’s key terpene compounds include limonene, linalool, citrine, and myrcene which add to its healing properties. Pitiona Oaxaca Lemon Verbena has even been used as a seasoning in mole, soups, and vegetable dishes!

    Hi Irene,

Thanks so much for sharing the photo! Your Lemon Verbena appears to be adjusting to its new environment, and the lighter green leaves can be a normal response as a plant acclimates after shipping.

Lemon Verbena does best with plenty of sunlight, consistent moisture, and a well-draining soil mix with good aeration. Giving it some time to settle in while keeping an eye on the new growth is a good place to start.

If you feel the plant you received doesn’t match what’s described in our listing, or if you have any concerns about its condition, please reach out to us at care@sowexotic.com with your order number and additional photos. We’re always happy to take a closer look and help!

    Lovely plant

My plant came well packed but I did noticed her leaves were yellowing .

Do you have any suggestions what could it be?

Thanks for your review, Janet! Yellowing leaves can sometimes happen from shipping stress, especially with sensitive plants. Give it some time to adjust in a bright, indirect light spot, and avoid overwatering. Feel free to email us with a photo to care@sowexotic.com if you'd like more specific care tips!

They arrived in cute little boxes inside a bigger one. Both packed well and had plenty of water in their bag. Tall height it was a good sign. I’ve transferred them into two gallon plastic pots with miracle grow in garden soil. I’m very happy with them!

    The best shipping ever!

Not enough words to express how happy I am with the shipment. The plants are healthy, well packed, and shipped fast. I've been buying plants from different nurseries over the years, and this is the very first time that I am impressed and grateful for the way the plants were packed and shipped. Not a free shipping, but worth every penny! Thank you! Happy with my purchase!
