Mulberry 'Shangri La' (Morus alba x rubra)
This berry packs a lot of punch! Full of juice and flavor (protein and fiber, too!), the Shangri La Mulberry is an excellent tree for yard grazing. You won't find this delicious fruit in stores, but you can pick ripe mulberries off of your very own trees for several months of the year.
Mulberries are native to America. They can grow quite large or be kept smaller in pots, while still fruiting heavily. The Shangri La variety yields large, succulent black fruit. It's one of our most fast-growing, high producing varieties here at the food forest.
