Grow Something Unexpected

Explore two unusual edible fruits with our Sweet & Tangy Fruit Bundle, featuring Peanut Butter Fruit and Barbados Cherry. This distinctive pairing brings together rich, sweet fruit with bright, tart cherries, adding something a little different to your home orchard or edible landscape.

This curated collection includes:

Peanut Butter Fruit (Bunchosia armeniaca) – A small tropical fruit tree known for its soft, orange-red fruit with a sweet flavor and a texture often compared to peanut butter. Grow it for a truly unusual fresh-eating experience and an eye-catching addition to a warm-climate garden.

Barbados Cherry (Malpighia emarginata) – A productive tropical shrub known for its bright red fruits with a refreshing, tart flavor. Also called acerola, Barbados cherry is delicious fresh or blended into juices, smoothies, and preserves.

Grow these two distinctive fruit plants together and add something unexpected to your edible garden, with unusual flavors, colorful harvests, and fresh fruit worth looking forward to.

Growing Tips:

Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Barbados Cherry loves warmth and humidity, performing best in USDA Zones 9–11. Water regularly, especially during fruiting, but avoid waterlogging. Mulch to conserve moisture and feed with a balanced organic fertilizer during the growing season. Prune lightly to shape and maintain manageable size. Can be grown in large containers in cooler climates and overwintered indoors.
